1970
Founder Yacoub Khalil establishes JBBO Global Trading Impex to sell spare parts for cars and agricultural machinery in Al Qamechli, northeast Syria.
1975
The company begins selling pickup trucks as the official Syrian distributor of General Motors. Given the region’s reliance on agriculture, JBBO expands its offerings to include imported agricultural tractors from the United States.
1977
JBBO opens a second branch in Aleppo in partnership with the AbdelNour Company. This marks a significant step in the company’s expansion, allowing it to import spare parts from General Motors and distributing them to the wholesale market.
1980
JBBO shifts its focus entirely to wholesale distribution, expanding its import network to include suppliers from the United States, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. The company also establishes new locations in Damascus and northeastern Syria. By building a strong distribution network across Syria, JBBO supplies auto and heavy machinery parts to customers in Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, and Iraq as an authorized representative of several global manufacturers.
1988
JBBO begins participating in major international trade fairs specializing in spare parts. Since then, the company has consistently attended Automechanika in Frankfurt and Las Vegas, as well as exhibitions in China, Turkey, Brazil, and France.
1989
The company expanded into South America, particularly Brazil and Argentina, directly importing parts for General Motors, Volkswagen, Ford, and Fiat. Among the firsts in the Middle East to deal directly with Brazilian factories specializing in spare parts, JBBO became the representative of these manufacturers in the entire region.
2012
In response to security concerns and restrictive customs regulations during the Syrian conflict, JBBO adapts by scaling down operations in Syria and shifting its focus to the Canadian market. Through strategic partnerships, the company establishes a strong customer base in Montreal and Toronto, offering high-quality Brazilian, German, and Turkish product lines.
2025
With the reopening of import and trade under Syria’s new government, JBBO is now ready to reclaim its position as a market leader in the region. The company is prepared to resume full-scale operations, leveraging its extensive distribution network in Aleppo, Northeast Syria, and Damascus. In response to growing demand for vehicles, spare parts, and agricultural machinery, JBBO remains committed to revitalizing Syria’s automotive sector with premium products and exceptional after-sales services. With a legacy of excellence and innovation, JBBO is proud to contribute to the country’s economic recovery and the resurgence of its national market.
